Director's Award
This award is the
most prestigious of all the awards; it is presented to the team best representing
the true meaning of FLL and FIRST with their enthusiasm and inspiration
to others.
The FIRST LEGO League experience is more than building robots and competitions.
It starts with the robot, but most important, defines how children unite
to form a team, the positive effect it has on each of them as individuals
and team members, and how children share this experience with others.
They demonstrate respect, encouragement and continued gracious professionalism,
giving this team the honor of serving as a values role model for FIRST
and the FIRST LEGO League Program. The team receiving this award was exceptional
in the areas of:
Research Assignment and Presentation Award
The Research Assignment and Presentation Award is presented to the team whose quality research, innovative solutions and creative presentation best reflect an in-depth understanding of the various scientific disciplines and issues involved with the Challenge Research Assignment. The team awarded this trophy demonstrated to the judging panel:

Teamwork is necessary to succeed in FIRST LEGO League, and is the key ingredient in any team. This award is presented to the team that best demonstrates extraordinary enthusiasm and spirit, exceptional partnership, and the utmost respect to their own teammates, and in their support and encouragement of fellow teams. Rookie Award. Each season, another fearless brigade of rookies enters the fascination FLL process. This award goes to the team who rises above and beyond what is expected of rookies, and show promise to be ranked among the most elite veteran teams when they return next season.

Against all Odds Award. Incredible odds can be overcome if we just never give up, no matter what This award goes to the team who rises from the worst situation to improvise, adapt, overcome, and still make a respectable showing.

Team Spirit Award. Some teams really know how to go overboard. Their community knows them well. They're loud, they're bright, they jump around, and their high-fives really sting. They may rock the boat sometimes, but they always rock the house! This award goes to the team who most enthusiastically demonstrates a commitment to getting others to see how accessible, fun, and rewarding science and technology can be, especially when you're part of a great team.

Judge Award. Many high quality teams don't exactly fit the mold for an existing award, but nonetheless deserving. Some teams have a story that profoundly sets them apart in a unique way. Sometimes, a given award is just too close to call. This award gives the judges the freedom to recognize the most remarkable teams for which a standard award does not exist.

Volunteer Award. The success of the FLL Program is a reflection of the commitment and enthusiasm displayed by our volunteers. This award honors the dedication of the volunteer(s) whose assistance and devotion helped to change the lives of children for the future.

Performance Award. This Award is presented to the team that has the best record at the end of three rounds of the competition. A team's record is the highest number of points that the team obtains from any one of the three rounds; i.e. only the points that the team obtains in its best round are used to determine the record.
